Running | Bixby Tires
It’s always time to care for your Bixby tires. If you need help caring for your Bixby tires, call the Bixby tire guys at Same Day.
Today is one of those days you and thousands of others have been training for – the Aquarium Run. You’ve been preparing by running every day, of course. But you’ve also prepared by making sure your equipment – your shoes, feet and legs – is in great shape.
Car owners should learn by your example. Even though you may not be planning a road trip or road race, it’s wise to make sure your car and its equipment are in good shape. That’s especially trues of the tires.
“Driving on a damaged tire can be dangerous,” Cooper Tire Co. says. “If you see something you’re not sure about during your inspection, have it examined by your tire service professional. Any time you see damage to a tire, don’t drive on it – use a spare if you need to go somewhere.”
Cooper recommends that you check your tires at least once a month to make sure the tire pressure is correct and to look for uneven or irregular tread wear or other conditions. It is recommended that tires, including the spare, be periodically inspected by a tire service professional during routine maintenance intervals such as oil changes and tire rotations, Cooper says.
Cooper adds that tire checking involves more than merely examining your tires once a month: “Pay attention to the “feel” of your tires as you drive. A rough ride may indicate tire damage or excessive wear. If you notice vibrations or other disturbances while driving, and/or you suspect possible damage to your tire or vehicle, immediately reduce speed, drive with caution until you can safely pull off the road and stop, and inspect our tires. If a tire is damaged, deflate it and replace it with your spare. If you do not see any tire damage and cannot identify the source of the vibration, have the vehicle towed to a mechanic or tire dealer for a thorough inspection.”
